Snakes are one of the most common dream symbols. They can represent a number of different things including health, transition, transcendence, enlightenment, change, evil, sex and more. It is difficult to interpret the snake symbol without looking at the surrounding details from the dream.

But most people want a single interpretation, so I will venture out onto a limb and say that in general, snakes represent shedding your old self and allowing new aspects of yourself to emerge in your life. Snake dreams are often fearful ones; in that case, they represent your fear of change or your anxieties surrounding some changing aspect within your life.
